In the Wicklow Mtns. at Lough Tay
Filming of the History Channel series' "Vikings" (this is the location where they also filmed parts of Braveheart)
This lake and the estate where filming is done was owned by the Guinness family for generations
Driving through Sally Gap - stopping to look at the wild Irish cotton
So, then Nana wanted to get out and take a picture because it reminded her of the "hills" in the Sound of Music. Well.... That's photo #1
Photo #2 - "Uh Oh!"
Photo #3: She's about 10 feet from the car and she's laughing hysterically (hence us dying laughing in the car and continuing to take pictures of her).
Photo #4: Getting up and composing herself
Photo #5: Brushing herself off
Photo #6: And there's the picture she wanted!
We took Wayne's Dad to Johnnie Fox's Pub up in the Wicklow Mtn's (open since 1798 - the location where Ireland's revolutionaries would have their secret meetings). We figure this would be the best spot for him to have his first Guinness.
Nearly all heads-of-state, most famous actors & actresses (Brad Pitt, the Rolling Stones, Presidents, Golfers, Singers, etc. You name someone, they've been to Johnnie Fox's)
Coliemore Harbour, near our house
Looking out at Dalkey Island - since her last trip here, Mom has thought it was "Donkey" island. So cute.
Dinner at our place
And, of course, given that it's 80 degrees here, we had ice cream on the East Pier
The famous Teddy's ice cream
Our favorite café in Monkstown - Café Du Journal - before Rick playing the organ across the road
Yesterday evening we took them up to the Obelisk on top of Killiney Hill. By far, one of the most beautiful lookouts in all of Dublin.
Brush fire on the hillside so the Dublin Fire Brigade was out there.
"Here, get a picture of me pushing Rick off the cliff" haha! She's so funny.
Looking out from Killiney Hill to Bray Head (mountain on the left). They went to hike up this today. I'm home with Norah because she projectile vomited on the kitchen floor this morning. Hm...that's not great. Guess we'll stay home today. Poor baby.
Father and Son, looking out toward England.
Nana's such a good sport. She fell again, getting out of this thing, but sadly, I have no photo-evidence. She's a lot of fun, this one. :)
Pake kept pushing Nana around on this thing and she was completely stuck so she nearly lost her dinner.
