Half Marathon, Wedding and Wayne schoolin' kids in Badminton

No, you tell me that's not amazing! This was at mile 11 of the half marathon (of 13 total miles). It was slightly uphill here which made it tough but I can honestly say, this view nearly made up for the pain. Just about. :)
Mimi and I just giddy after the finish, carrying all our goodies. They hand you (force feed you) Gatorade, bagels, power bars, chocolate milk (we gave ours to the kiddos) and Jamba Juice smoothies.
Wayne and the wife at the finish. We'll run one of these together this Spring - the Connemara  Half Marathon in April 2014
Simon, very proud of his Mama! This woman, my sister, starting training TEN weeks prior, and got herself from 0 miles, up to 13 miles. Not only that, she did this with an 8 month old baby, whom she runs with in the largest, heaviest running buggy I have ever encountered. She is super woman.

Seattle makes pretty good T-Shirts.
And, onto the most important event - Mimi and James and their nuptials, the day after Mimi's very first half marathon. (looking out at the route, across the water, where we ran the day before) Uncle Dan's house has made the most beautiful setting for nearly every single family event for the last 17 years.

Stunning Aunt Mary (this woman is 70 years old this year, people. She is a stunner).

Watching over my Dad and Sarah's shoulders

Our grandmother's wedding dress on her wedding day to my Grandfather, John Flynn (which was nearly the exact same blue as Mimi's dress).
Mimi and Uncle Marko
The girls, lovin' on Simon
Loved this shot of Richard holding Simon's hand (ever so nonchalantly) while Simon's asleep and Richard is chatting with Julia.

giggling because Uncle Dan is already getting impatient and walking away. He said I was as slow as Granny Flynn when taking a picture. So here he is, below, imitating Granny Flynn, getting her camera, at age 102.

"Oh just a sec, I want to get a picture. Wait, where's my camera?? Oh here it is... I'll just grab it. Hold on".

Mimi and Nancy. Another stunner.

Love this one. Me and Uncle Dan.

Ah yes. Uncle Dan, likes to appear tall so he told Wayne to crouch down, while he stood on his tippy toes. See how tall he is??
Yes, Uncle Dan is on his tippy toes but he looks good tall!

Sarah, Mimi, Marissa (our honorary/adoptive Gage-sister)
Norah (3 years old) holding the picture of my Mom when she was 4 years old (1952).

Beachcombing day at Golden Gardens - Seattle Aquarium staff come to the beach at low tide and tell you all about different sea creatures. It's free, amazing and such a cool Seattle-type activity. We loved it and would do this every week if we lived there.

Cousin Suzy's new condo downtown. The view's not too shabby.
A beautiful location and in walking distance to absolutely everything that's great about downtown Seattle.
What started out as a friendly afternoon playing badminton at Mimi's.....

 Preying Mantise?
Here, it looks like he's 'throwin' down' in a gang fight.
"Ok, I lost my composure there, kids. Let me just gather myself for a second."
 Back to it!
 Helluva jump move
Annnd... here are the kids on the other end. Norah's got it!
Mimi has an incredible wild garden around their new house but needs some help getting it all 'tamed' and under control. Enter Margarete & Siegfried - the most amazing couple we've ever known. They're "adoptive" great-aunt and great-uncle to us and we adore them. Margarete is an actual master gardener so her offering her help was a big honor.
Kids' table - all wiped out after gettin' whooped by Wayne on the Badminton court.
