Seattle Family - Trip to Greystones Seaside

This was one of the best days we had the entire trip. This was 4 days after the marathon and Mimi and I met the normal DLPR running group at 10 am on Saturday morning. She and I did a very short run together (so lovely!) and then we all got ready to take the train to Greystones (30 minutes directly south of us). We caught the bullet train right outside our apartment and had a luxury ride down along the coast (same price as the DART but it's the nice train with tables and a food cart!) .

We all had a ball beach-combing and playing with the kids' new hurley sticks from Auntie Mimi. If you're wondering what that is, here's the Explanation. I swear though, with a family (or any big group), the seaside is where it's at. Everyone can roam freely, everyone is safe, everyone is entertained and the kids have an absolute ball.

This felt like the most picturesque Irish Seaside holiday-day. The conditions were absolutely perfect.

Dad, contemplating life and looking out toward England.

Norah and Auntie Sarah, victorious on their mountain-top.
I absolutely loved these pieces of artwork at the Happy Pear in Greystones (my most favorite, favorite café in all of Ireland). The Happy Pear is a Seattle café, in Dublin - everything is made with non-dairy milks, they sell gorgeous produce, and all vegetarian cuisine (which is affordable and beautiful!).

Stopping in for a coffee after the beach.
