This is slightly out of order, as this was a couple days before Greystones but there we have it.
Norah & Marko coming back on the DART train.
Had to show Auntie Sarah the movie 'Frozen'.
This was Dad's 'station' while at our house. If he was here, on wifi, with a Guinness, he was just as happy as could be. (and if I brought him toast with copious amounts of butter & jam, that helped too)
Dad, on a mission to explore Dun Laoghaire. This is just a short walk from our apartment - down toward the East Pier and Teddy's Ice Cream.
It was a tid-bit windy up on the pier and it was hurting Dad's ears. He had an easy solution. Once we went down to the backside of the pier though, it all calmed down.
Dad looking out toward Sandycove and the James Joyce museum.
I told Dad, if he wears shorts with his trench coat, he looks every-so-slightly like a 'flasher' but he was sure that wasn't true. Looking quite dapper, nonetheless.
Norah was still in school for the 2 weeks they were with us so this is one day on the walk home from picking her up.
If you know my sisters and Dad at all, you know they wanted to hit up the Dun Laoghaire thrift shops. They really wanted to do more but ran out of days. Next time, you guys, next time.
I love these two photos of them.
One evening we went to People's Park and for the first time in nearly 3 years of being here, it was completely empty. It's as if the park was magically cleared just for us, and we had so much fun. It was like this peaceful vortex opened up for us and we just sat on the swings and nearly killed our Dad on a spinny-contraption and Mimi did this lovely little number (below).
This is a few days after the marathon and only after hearing this, did I hear how sick I still was. Oy.
These will be some of the best memories we had the whole trip.
Such a heart-melter here.
I love these photos so much.
The obligatory Teddy's ice cream stop - you just have to do it.
