Well, we had a long layover in Denmark so we decided to take advantage. We took a short train ride into the city and walked around for a couple hours before catching our flight home to Dublin. We really loved Copenhagen and were so happy we saw it. It's a pristine city - very clean and we loved that! People are very stylish, good-looking and well dressed and this was a nice change from Dublin. ha! Not to say Dublin is completely dumpy but, style-wise, it doesn't rank with any other European cities. All in all, we thought Denmark was lovely and it made us realize we really would love to see the rest of Scandinavia.
Here is Norah - still passed out. She fell asleep about an hour after take-off from Toronto, slept through the entire 7 1/2 hours, slept through landing, disembarking, making our way through the Copenhagen airport, onto the Metro train, into the city, about a 1/2 mile walk and woke up at the end of our breakfast at a cafe. This girl...can sleep.
Still asleep
Bedraggled after 30 hours awake but happy to be having a coffee in Copenhagen.
This is Wayne in pickled-herring-heaven. Three different kinds on one plate.
Norah finally woke up. She fell asleep an hour into the flight from Toronto and woke up at a cafe in Denmark. Man, this two year old has an interesting life.
And if there's milk with straws, she's happy.
Our response: "Not sure I want to be 'behandled' by lasers"
So handsome.
Everyone had these for their kids (and whatever else they need to carry) and I desperately want one!! I think this is so much better than the baby seats, or even the chariot carriage for little ones. The Danish have the cycling figured OUT! Why has this not caught on? This person is obvsiously serious about family-transit as there's a baby seat on the back as well. This could be a family vehicle for four!
As usual with European monuments, this picture does not in any way capture the scale of this steeple. It was shockingly large and the building was incredible. We turned the corner to see this and it stopped us dead in our tracks.
Sculptures under water in a canal. This was eery and haunting. Didn't find anything with an explanation but it was quite creepy. It appears to be a mother with several children (and I think she's even holding a baby).

I loved this older man who sat down and just started swinging (this was another one of the art school installations)
Another serious bike carriage. This is one cool lady.
We noticed they love their big cruiser-type bikes in Copenhagen.
Typical Norah - "Is that a crumb on my finger?"
Weird Danish folks
One of my favorite photos of all time. I only wish we had brought our big camera on this trip.
Ohhhh how I love these pictures.
