Derek and Rikki's Wedding - August 24, 2012

I think these are pretty self-explanatory so I'll refrain from 75 captions. =) Needless to say, it was a flawless wedding and Derek and Rikki did nearly every single thing themselves. The bride even did all the flowers by herself! (and made every decoration - glueing buttons and ribbons to mason jars, making picture frames, etc. etc.) It was so beautifully done it could have been in a magazine and that's testament to how great these two are. We were so happy to be there for their big day and Wayne was incredibly honored to be Derek's best man. He takes this stuff pretty seriously. =)

Derek and Wayne have been friends since they were about 12 and we first met Rikki when Derek brought her to our wedding in Seattle, three years ago. We instantly liked her and turns out, Derek did too. Rikki works as a therapist at a maximum security prison (with the most serious offenders) and Derek is finishing his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology out in Ottawa. So, Rikki is one tough woman and Derek is one persistent man. Did I mention the Ph.D. has taken about 6 years (hence the persistence)? (no fault of his own, as usual, this is due to professors and politics.)
Wayne and Derek have been on paralell paths in many ways, their entire lives and they're such a beautiful example of best friends.

 And...they're flawless dancers apparently.
 Then the fun started.

 Kev DeBoer can get. down.
 And so can, Principal Marcus.

 AND Uncle Geordie

Trip to St. Thomas, Ontario

Nana made this doll for Norah! She made the doll (who has a crocheted camisole connected to her), the curly hair, the tights, the shoes, a skirt and a full sweater!! It's unreal. Anyone who comes over will get to see this doll and will get a full run-down of how much work actually went into it. I consider it an engineering (crocheting)-marvel.

As you can tell, Wayne's parents' place is a little piece of heaven and we always look forward to arriving. It just feels like home (well obviously for Wayne but even for me).
Cousin Malachi, 19 months - Smiling for the camera!

Cousin Judah and Norah watching a show on Nana's computer

Malachi is only 19 months  and Norah is 26 months (ie: 2) but they're the exact same size!
So love this place and even more so with laundry drying on the line in Summer
